The rest of the story...

So, I have been home about a month now and still feel high from all the amazing experiences in Europe! :-)
The day after I hung out with Sydney I met Harry, Nate and Julia at the Hostel. I met Harry that night in the Chill out room while working on my last blog entry, and met Nate and Julia while hanging out on the stair case, aka my office (will explain later).

I had so much fun with them, we had ridiculous moments and serious moments. I will always remember them and I am so thankful for the pictures I have to document it. The very day I met Nate and Julia all 4 of us went to the Tower of London, then out for fish n chips and had a very deep discussion about religion. This was also the first time I tried beer.( I know, ironic.) I actually liked it. It was Carlsberg. (will talk about this more later as well for all those starting to critisize/judge).
Harry! He is so fun and interesting!!

The next day I spent with Sydney again! We went to Portabello market, Hyde Park for a live production of  The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (which I loved), then we just walked around forever! Wait... I think I have 2 days intertwined here. I'm getting mixed up on the details. Either way, all of this happened! I really enjoyed playing with Sydney. She is awesome! We also got to see Lawson (an emerging boy band in the UK), ate delicous chocolate cake, indian food and candy. We also saw 2 movies. Snow White and the Huntsman and then because the lights turned on in the theater Sydney got us 2 free tickets so we watched the Avengers in 3D! :-) I saw it twice there... yeah, I'm kinda in love with Thor! Holy Hannah! He is beautiful!
                                                                    Portabello Road
Hyde Park for The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe
I really loved how much everyone appreciated the parks and warm weather!

The next day was Sunday and I met Sydney at church where we ended up STARVING so we went to sacrament and then left early to go get something to eat. We went to Herrods. Herrods, in my opinion, is as much ridiculous as it is amazing! I was amazed at the ridiculous prices. That did not stop us from having fun though as you can see...

The next day was Memorial Day which is a very delicate day for me. Most of you know this, but 4 years ago that day one of my very best friends committed suicide. I don't want to get into the details, but I always try to celebrate her life in some way that day. Last year it was eating all of her favorite junk food, and this year it was taking the day easy and hanging out/having fun at the beach in Brighton with Sydney! I loved Brighton! It was beautiful!

The next day I went to Westminster Abby with Nate and Julia. It was breath taking and surreal. I had no idea what to expect which made it all the more authentic for me. I was amazed at the history, and mesmerized by the heavy feeling that lingered in the air from it.  Death and drama filling the entire abbey.  I truly enjoy history, but was impressed by the  glory shown in the monument s. I will have to go back one day to absorb it some more...

We also went to the Sherlock Holmes museum which was really fun!

                                                                             Silly Smiles!

That Wednesday Nate, Julia and Harry left. Nate and Julia went to Spain, and Harry went to Amsterdam. I think I just chilled that day, no... wait. THIS is the day Sydney and I saw the movies... I remember now! :-) The next day  (Thursday) I went to St. Pauls Cathedral! I loved the architecture and art. I absolutely love the details... I just stared at the walls, paintings, murals, and detail  for hours. I wondered about the people who created such beauty and craft... and what they might have been like. One of my favorite parts was walking up all the stairs for the whispering dome, and the view at the very, very top. It was soo worth it! Even when on the way down I really had to use the restroom! ;-) (Nice to share, I know.)

That night I got back early and had planned on watching Harry Potter, doing my laundry, working on my blog, and just going to bed. Brekka was suppose to come back the next day, but I wasn't sure because her facebook said she would be getting back from Africa on Saturday in the afternoon. So, I was going to go to Parliament, enjoy the city a bit more, and had booked a tour at the Harry Potter Studio Tour place for that Saturday morning thinking that  would put me back at the Hostel around the time Brekka would be arriving.  Yeah... life kinda changed that night. I met Jesse and Katia and they rocked my world! :-)

I have a really hard time talking about my experiences with Jesse and Katia. They were so honest and unexpected.   I'm thankful for the detour from Germany because our paths may have never crossed the way they did... Its truly amazing how we connected. For me it was instant. I was talking to Katia and some students in the chill out room that Thursday night about who knows what, and then in came Jesse with his noodles. I was automatically fascinated by him! He and Katia had met outside the Hostel just a few mins before while smoking a cigarette, so they already had already made an introduction. Instead of asking everyones name Jesse decided we were going to play a game and he would try to guess ours, and then we would try to guess his. Out of the 6 people there he got one right! Emily. That was pretty cool! When it was our turn to guess his. I guessed Charles or Charlie. That was cool too, because that is his dad, and grandfathers name. I just thought he looked like a Charlie. Jesse works, too though. Jesse actually fits him better, I think... After that he asked an extremely random but interesting question. He asked, "what do you guys think about pigeons?" That was interesting to me because I had just had a neat experience with a pigeon the day before! Again... fascinated! He said he wanted to try to catch a pigeon, I said I want to record this! Katia said she wants to see the video! Thats when we established our plans for the next day.  Jesse would catch a pigeon, Katia would get a job, and I would sing Karaoke!

Anyway we hung out and talked that night, I drank his Magners and my first Margarita (even though "I dont drink.") It was a nice night...

The next day we went to Leicester square where Katia put in resumes and received a call for an interview up in Stratford. Of course we went with her! This is also where Jesse tried to catch a pigeon! This entire day I was keeping track of my facebook waiting for a message from Brekka to let me know when she would be getting in. The message finally came and we rushed back to the Hostel as soon as Katia was out of her interview. Sadly, I never got to sing in London. :-( I will go back one day though...

                                                         On our back from Stratford!

Crepes by Katia at her flatt!

For me this was an adventure inside of an adventure inside of an adventure inside of an adventure inside of an adventure.

I was so excited to see Brekka! She was sooo exhausted though...

                                                   Brekka!!! Come play!!!!

The next few days were somewhat of a roller coaster. There were some extremely intense situations, Brekka and I had a few disagreements (we are good now though), we switched hostel rooms, and Brekka ended up leaving the hostel all together  and meeting up with some friends she new from California  .  I cried the entire night the night she left, but also knew it was probably what was best for her. We still hung out, ate delicious sushi and roamed the streets a bit...

It was a very exciting time to be in London! I got to go Hyde Park for the Jubilee, and see some of the construction going on to get London ready for the Olympics this month!

I fell in love with London! I will definitely be going back...
